Conversely, 43% think his actions are necessary to get the government on track. Many people, around 55%, feel that federal funding cuts are more harmful than helpful. Additionally, 62% say Trump isn't doing enough to address high prices. A majority, 52%, think he has overstepped his presidential powers. Notably, 47% of U.S. adults approve of Trump's job performance, highlighting the polarized sentiments among the electorate.
In terms of Trump's goals, 73% of respondents believe he has clear objectives for his presidency. However, only 35% think he will be successful in the long run. About 33% predict he will fail, while 31% say it's too early to tell. The approval ratings show a significant partisan divide, with a staggering 89-point gap between Republicans and Democrats. This partisan gap is among the highest recorded by Gallup.
Economic perceptions are also varied. Only 42% approve of Trump's handling of the economy, which is lower compared to previous presidents at the same point in their terms. Many Americans, 48%, believe that tariffs will hurt the economy, while 42% think they will help.
On immigration and foreign policy, Trump's approval ratings stand at 46% for immigration and 44% for foreign affairs. Voter opinions remain divided on these issues. As for Trump's controversial actions, 57% disapprove of pardons related to January 6th.
